Dance/Contact Improvisation
الارتجال بالرقص/باللمس
From the moment I started teaching in Palestine, I’ve wanted to create the kinds of spaces I never had—neither growing up nor as an adult. I began offering classes and sharing values I had long searched for abroad, driven by a deep desire to build dance spaces for my community, which has been fragmented by government policies since the country’s founding.
I also wanted to address sensitive topics within the Arabic community, such as touch—how to create safe spaces for intimacy, connection through dance, and room to process and speak about it. What emerged became much more than a place to learn dance: it became a space for healing and community.
Since 2023, I’ve been creating courses, workshops, and open classes for the Palestinian community in the north of Palestine, with a strong focus on Haifa. It’s been an incredible journey—culminating each year in the first gathering of the Palestinian embodied dance community in ’48, which I initiated: Tajasud.
But that’s a story for another page on this website :)
